THERE IS ALWAYS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO DO THINGS
As a former runner I understand the anxiety that comes with race preparation, we are always rethinking and reshaping our training plan - how can I become better, stronger, faster?
My coaching philosophy is that athletes should be built from the ground up. They should have formal understanding of correct running, built from the inside out. I am very conscious about their choices that lead up to them reaching their goals. Your training plan should be just as equipped as your sleep plan, eating plan, strength plan, and recovery plan. Being an athlete can feel like a huge role, it’s connected to our values and ethics; always stay true to those. Athletes are some of the most influential people and activists in the world, so let’s use our stage correctly.
In this journey, don’t be too hard on yourself and feel that every race has to go as planned. How will you look at your career when it’s all over? What do you want out of it? All I can say is, use your platform for good. Oddly as it sounds, it’s not always about gold medals and championships. These gifts you have are second to none, honor them and put your best foot forward as if your life counted on it. Your talent can be used to fight a bigger cause, or help you grow you as a business owner for the rest of your life – enjoy the journey, enjoy traveling, enjoy the new friends made.
